Frustration is an emotion which occurs in many different situations, for example, an obstacle preventing you from achieving your goal. In response to this, you may feel annoyance, irritation or disappointment. If not managed correctly, stress or anxiety can occur.
Frustration brings feelings of anger, helplessness and can be overwhelming. There are many different reactions to this emotion. You may begin to feel out of control and start lashing out on others or you can become withdrawn as the stress overwhelms you.
Excessive stress can decrease your productivity as basic tasks begin to become more intimidating. You become easily agitated which can lead to you hurting yourself or those around you. Maybe your judgement becomes clouded leading to impulsive actions which makes the situation worse.
To effectively manage frustration, talk it out with someone you trust. This helps you to express your feelings in a healthy way, making your thoughts clearer without becoming overwhelmed. Take a moment to breathe and concentrate on what you can control.
